Harry joined Acorn Community Care in August 2020, in the thick of the pandemic — a challenging time that quickly revealed the strength and warmth of the Acorn team. Starting as a Senior Support Worker and Values Lead, Harry immediately felt part of something meaningful. The welcome he received, and the quality of care he witnessed, made a lasting impression.

Just six months in, Harry stepped into a Service Manager role. Since then, he’s led with quiet confidence, supporting two supported living services alongside his fellow managers. What drives Harry is seeing staff and the people we support build genuine relationships — rooted in trust, understanding and shared purpose.

Harry has worked in health and social care for over 14 years, but says Acorn is the first place where he’s truly felt a sense of belonging. It’s more than a job — it’s a place where people matter, ideas are welcomed, and everyone plays a role in making life better for the people we support.

Outside of work, Harry’s connection to Acorn runs deep — his partner also works for the charity, and their two young sons are often seen on the farm. That sense of family, inclusion and care is something Harry values every day.
