I strongly believe that it is the newly formed Management structure, and those important ‘behind the scenes’ people, and their belief in Acorn, which will ensure that we are always here for many vulnerable people within our community.

I first came to Acorn back in 2010 as a community support worker for another provider, but soon became a support worker for Acorn and have been here ever since.

I started working for Acorn Community Care in January 2021 as their People & Resources manager. Previous to working at Acorn, I have been a HR manager for over 15 years and have worked at a variety of companies

It really is a family affair here at Acorn and I remember coming and helping after school on the farm and have known some of the people we provide care to for 17 years!

I have been with Acorn Community Care for three years as a support worker and farm manager.  Previously I have had over 15 years’ experience in the social care sector.

Service Manager

I have worked at Acorn since 2017 , although I have previously worked for Acorn between 2011-2014. My role now as Service manager is to oversee the day to day running of two of our supported living services.

I am a service manager at Acorn Community Care, and I oversee one of the supported living projects and an autism specialist day service.

I started working for Acorn Community Care in August 2020 in the middle of the global pandemic. I started my first week as a Senior Support Worker and Values Lead.

Admin & Marketing Manager

I joined Acorn Community Care in February 2022.  I heard through a volunteer at Acorn that an Admin Role was available so thought I would go and see what the job and Acorn was all about.  I am so glad that I did and after just a few hours there I knew I wanted to take the role.

Quality & Development Manager

I joined the Acorn team in March 2022 as a Project Manager and then moved into the role of Quality & Development Manager, so my role is to assist with developing new services and looking at improving the way we do things.
