Julie Hall

Farm Manager

Julie has been with Acorn Community Care for several years and plays a central role in the heart of our day service — the farm. With over 15 years’ experience in the social care sector and hands-on knowledge of animal husbandry from her own smallholding, Julie brings a unique blend of compassion, skill and know-how to her work.

She leads the farm with a deep sense of responsibility — not just for the animals, but for the people who come to Acorn to feel a sense of purpose and connection. From feeding time with the pigs to gathering eggs from our chickens, Julie helps people grow in confidence by giving them real responsibility in a supportive, friendly environment.

What makes Julie special is her ability to combine structure with spontaneity. She knows when to guide and when to step back. She helps people build routines they can take pride in — without ever making things feel institutional. She sees every day as a chance to create positive memories, and she loves watching people surprise themselves with what they can do.

Julie also understands the power of laughter. Her energy is infectious, and her connection with the people we support is rooted in mutual respect, warmth and humour. She believes the best learning happens when people feel safe, valued and part of something bigger — and that’s exactly what she creates every day at the farm.
